The Sangha Group has been the largest producer of seed and table potatoes in Asia since 40 years. Located at Jalandhar in the state of Punjab, an area known for the highest quality of seed production in India, The Sangha Group is producing over 55,000 tons of high quality potato seed annually, preserving it in self-owned Refrigerated Storage during the summer months and supplying it to various states in India. The disease-free seed potatoes are produced under a Limited Generation Seed program on an area of 5500-6000 acres (approx) in Punjab which is leased from farmers.

Sardar Hardev Singh Sangha has a M.Sc. degree in Vegetable Crops from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi(1961) after his Bachelor’s degree from PAU, Ludhiana (1959)

He was the first to start seed potato production on a scientific basis in India and he expanded on it over the years.

Jang Bahadur Singh Sangha, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (Honours) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana (1989) & a Master of Science degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in Fruit & Vegetable Science (1994) with specialization in Biotechnology based Seed Potato Production.
