Micropropagation
Micropropagation is the process of growing seed in a controlled environment. We have been operating our Tissue Culture Lab since 1994 for rapid multiplication of disease free material of all popular varieties and selections.
Greenhouse
The Potato microplants are grown in green houses to produce minitubers during the main seed crop season. The minitubers produced using this system have similar physiological maturity.
The Limited Generation Seed production program is supported by a Tissue Culture Facility & a Plant Pathology Laboratory for disease testing including ELISA testing for viruses which has been in operation since 1994. ELISA is performed for PVX, PVY, PVS, PVA, PVM, PLRV & Gemini Virus.
The seed is free from seed-borne diseases and other defects. The key advantage is that the potato seed is in the right physiological stage for planting in countries of the Indian Sub-continent, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East resulting in quick emergence leading to an early crop and higher yields.
